If you were thinking about an extra break this year or early next, Ireland is always an excellent choice. Not only is the Emerald Isle immensely beautiful, the people will always make you feel more welcome than you could ever imagine. Dublin is one city that has realised an amazing increase in the average standard of living over the past couple of decades. Back in the eighties, Dublin and Ireland could definitely have been described as depressed areas with frighteningly high levels of unemployment and inherent poverty. However, that has now all changed and although Ireland has also suffered through the recent recession, things are still far better than they ever have been. These allow you to be in the thick of the city and completely amenable to all local tourist attractions. Dublin is actually quite cosmopolitan, admittedly never on the standard of Paris or London, but nevertheless it is so much more modern and vibrant than most other cities. As we already said though, it is the people in Ireland that makes any stay a truly amazing experience. Their warmth and unique sense of humour will keep you rolling on the floor with laughter throughout your entire stay - it definitely did with me.
