Glaslough

Glaslough is a pretty village, located 11km to the north-east of Monaghan Town. The nearby lake, Lough Emy, is popular for bird-watching due to the number of its fowl and swans. The village is closely associated over the past 300 years with Castle Leslie, home to the Leslie family. Castle Leslie is now a hotel and spa and equestrian centre and although it is open to visitors, access to some areas of the estate is restricted.
