Rockcorry

Rockcorry is a quaint village in north-west County Monaghan close to Dartrey Forest. It is situated on the R188 road which links Cootehill to Monaghan town. The village has handsome stone buildings and was originally built as a linen town by the Corr family. The inventor of the shorthand system, which bears his name, John Cregg was born here in 1867. The ruin of the old linen mill can still be found outside the village.
