Drumkeeran

Drumkeeran is situated in an area of large forest plantations undertaken by Coillte, the Irish Department of Forestry. It is a scenic village with views of the northern end of Lough Allen to be enjoyed towards the top of the village where the road bends towards Drumshanbo. Lough Allen is narrow and long stretching out north as far as the eye can see with Slieve Anierin on the eastern side. Some of the many things not to miss are the drive around Lough Allen, the Glencar Lake and Waterfall, and the Creevelea Friary. The varied topography favours land and water sports, such as golfing, sea and shore angling, swimming, surfing, riding, and walking and cycling, to name a few.
