Cloverhill

Cloverhill is a charming village with beautiful buildings close to Butlersbridge in County Cavan which is home to one of the region’s finest restaurants, the Olde Post Inn.

The local Church dates from the mid 1800’s, is a notable building in the area. Castle Saunderson just outside the village has been a prominent feature in the area since the early 17th Century, although the present castle is a version rebuilt in the 1840’s. The large grounds offer a fine walk with a lake and woodland areas of beech, pine and sitka spruce to enjoy. One feature of the demesne estate is a small gothic church and private graveyard with carved headstones commemorating the various generations of the Saunderson family. The estate is currently used by Scouting Ireland for training scouts from Ireland and overseas. Part of the estate will also be open to visitors who wish to explore the historic and scenic grounds.

Crom Estate, located in nearby County Fermanagh has beautiful landscape of islands, woodland and historical ruins and is worth a visit. Crom Estate is an important nature reserves and boasts an excellent visitor centre. Fishing, boat hire and camping are available too.
