Kingscourt

Kingscourt is a town with plenty of things to do for visitors. for choice.  Dun a Rí Forest Park is a popular attraction for families and walkers. Lough-an-Leagh mountain (1119ft) is an area of spectacular natural beauty and is enjoyed by walkers and hikers from Cavan and beyond. On clear days those who reach the summit can see 14 counties and there is a scenic walk at the top of Lough-an-Leagh too.

Dun a Rí Forest Park is situated in a beautiful glen and a wide variety of animals can be discovered in lcuding stoat, mink, rabbit, hare, otter,  and red squirrel. Explore the deep, leafy trails over old bridges enjoying marvellous views north to Slieve Gullion in County Armagh and the Mountains of Mourne. Some interesting features in the park include Cromwell's bridge, a wishing well and an ice house. There are four marked walks of approximately 1.5–2km in length in the park.

Kingscourt's Catholic Church, sitting on a ridge high above the town, displays excellent stained glass windows by the renowned Irish artist Evie Hone, who also provided designs for Eton College Chapel.

To the south-west of Kingscourt is Muff Rock, the location of the annual horse fair each August which is known as the Oldest Horse Fair in the country.
